2. Overview – What does Keevio do?

Keevio is an AI-powered application that analyzes YouTube videos and transforms their content into clear, structured, and actionable insights.

Users paste a YouTube link, and Keevio automatically extracts key ideas, summaries, and core takeaways.

The goal of Keevio is to make valuable knowledge accessible in minutes instead of hours.

3. Data We Process

3.1 Account and Authentication Data

To use Keevio, users must create an account. Authentication is handled via the external service Clerk using:

  • Email authentication
  • Google login
  • Apple (iOS) login

During this process, the following personal data may be processed:

  • Email address
  • Public profile information (e.g. name or profile picture, if provided by the login provider)
  • A unique user ID

Authentication and identity management are fully handled by Clerk.

Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (performance of a contract)

3.2 Content Provided by Users

When using Keevio, we process the content you provide, in particular:

  • YouTube URLs
  • Automatically extracted content from YouTube videos (e.g. transcripts, summaries, key takeaways)

This data is processed solely to provide the requested insights, summaries, and structured content.

3.3 Technical and Usage Data

To ensure the security, stability, and proper functioning of the app, we may process technical data such as:

  • IP address (shortened or anonymized where possible)
  • Device and browser information
  • Access timestamps
  • Error and log data

4. AI-Based Processing

Keevio uses artificial intelligence to automatically analyze video content. The provided data is processed to:

  • Identify key ideas and concepts
  • Structure content into meaningful sections
  • Generate summaries and actionable insights

There is no automated decision-making with legal or similarly significant effects within the meaning of Art. 22 GDPR.

5. Hosting and Third-Party Services

5.1 Convex (Hosting & Backend)

All application data is hosted and processed using Convex, a cloud backend provider. Convex processes data solely on our behalf and in accordance with applicable data protection laws.

A corresponding data processing agreement (DPA) is in place.

5.2 Clerk (Authentication)

User authentication is handled by Clerk, an external authentication service provider. Clerk processes personal data independently as part of providing authentication services.

5.3 Google and Apple Login Providers

If you choose to log in via Google or Apple, the privacy policies of the respective providers apply in addition.

6. Data Sharing

Personal data is not shared with third parties, except where:

  • it is necessary to provide the service
  • we are legally required to do so
  • you have given explicit consent

No data is sold or shared for advertising purposes.

7. Data Retention

We store personal data only for as long as:

  • your user account exists, or
  • it is necessary to fulfill contractual obligations, or
  • legal retention requirements apply

After account deletion, associated data is deleted within a reasonable period.
